Following on from the arrest of an unlicensed school ‘social worker’ from Nevada, one of his victims has spoken out about his alleged crimes.
Speaking to 13 Action News with her father’s permission and under the condition of remaining anonymous, a 17-year old student gave her insight into the alleged abusive behaviours of Anthony Winston, 31.
“I’m not the only one, and I’m glad I’m not alone, but to know that I am not the only one, it’s very scary”
In an interview with 13 Action News, the student claimed that Winston appeared to take an unusual interest in her. Over the course of a number of months he would spot her in school hallways and go out of his way to speak to her.
The student claims that Winston’s abusive behaviours escalated on Tuesday the 26th February when she went to his office during the course of a difficult and emotional day for her. It was when seeking his support for her needs that she alleges Winston touched and kissed her.
“He decides to sit on the couch with me and then he lightly caressed my ankles and complimented my socks” she explained.
“He was trying to lean on me and asked me if I’ve dated black guys and If I’ve smoked weed before”
“He kissed me on my neck and then the bell rang, and I shot up”
“If this were some other girl, if this happened to any other girl, I would yell at them and make sure they would tell someone, anybody,” revealed the student from Chaparral High.
“This is not how we should be treated, especially young women”
Anthony Winston, 31, now faces charges of kidnapping a minor, child abuse, two offences of open and gross lewdness, and attempts to engage in sexual conduct with a student.
He was arrested by Clark County School District police following an investigation at Chaparral High School, Las Vegas, which identified his inappropriate behavior with two students.
In a statement to local press, law enforcement authorities have confirmed that they have two separate student allegations made against Winston.
