Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Here you can find out a bit more about what I do, how I can help you and the difference I try to make in the world. If there’s anything at all I can help with, or if you’d just like a chat, message me on social media or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ve got more than a decades’ experience delivering training, running workshops and public speaking in various social work and allied social care roles. In this time I’ve worked with many local organisations as well as larger institutions such as Serco, Randstad, BASW and the Belfast Trust.
I’m a member of the Society for Education and Training (SET), CPD accredited and hold dual training qualifications in Higher Education.
I specialise in child protection, safeguarding and self care for social workers.
Get in touch to find out how I can help your organisation and employees.
I’ve been providing private tutoring to social work students since 2015. In that time I have helped over 200 students from all over the UK achieve their goals and go on to enjoy successful social work careers.
From interview preparation to help you get onto your course in the first place, through to assignment support and dissertation planning, I’m here to help you make the most of your education and go on to succeed in your profession.
Whether you’re funded by student finance Disabled Students’ Allowance or looking to self-fund private tutoring, message me to discuss your learning needs and how I can help.
My first book, The Truth About Social Work, is the fastest selling ever debut by a social worker. This Amazon best seller contains twenty real life stories from people on the frontline of social work who share what it means to be a social worker in the 21st Century.
My next book, 50 States of Social Work, is coming in Winter 2018.
I’ll forever be honoured and humbled that your interest in my work has made me the most popular social work blogger in the history of the internet.
Although I now primarily write for Social Work World in my role as Editor-in-chief (and most of my blogs are archived there) you can find my more personal blogs and announcements on this section of the site.
I’ve worked with the BBC, ITV, Radio Scotland and LBC to discuss social work issues.
You can find all my writing and media work in this part of my site.
I provide consultancy for long-term projects and short-term organisational targets. My past work has seen me help recruitment agencies, training providers and individual start-ups achieve their goals.
My fields of expertise are social media, public relations, media, social work self care, web design and staff retention.
Drop me an email with your aspirations and we’ll talk about what I can do to help.
